Romulo Delmendo

Romulo H. Delmendo retired from the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, in 2020 after serving as an Administrative Patent Judge for over 20 years deciding ex parte appeals, inter partes appeals, and interferences.

Prior to his appointment to the Board, he worked as a patent attorney in various corporate, government, and law firm settings. Before that, Romulo served as a Legal Advisor in the Special Program Law Office, Patent Legal Administration, Office of the Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Patent Policy and Projects, and as a Primary Examiner in Patent Examining Group 1500 (mostly in the Ziegler-Natta catalytic olefin polymerization art).

Romulo received a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) degree from Stevens Institute of Technology and a law degree from the Catholic University of America. He is a member in the District of Columbia and Virginia Bars. He enjoys outdoor activities, especially camping and hiking
